Executive Dean's Office

Welcome to the office of Executive Dean John Haigh at the John F. Kennedy School of Government.

As part of the Dean’s Office, the Executive Dean works closely with the Dean and Academic Dean to develop the mission and strategic direction of the School, as well as drive the implementation of the strategy. He is also responsible for the management and oversight of the business functions and operations of the School, which include
Degree Programs, Executive Education, the Office of Financial Services, Information Technology, Research Administration, Human Resources, Communications and Public Affairs, and the Office of Facilities ManagementIn addition to his administrative duties, Dean Haigh also serves as Co-Director of the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government, where he works alongside Center Director Lawrence H. Summers.

Kennedy School Faculty and Staff are invited to join us for our monthly Executive Dean's Coffees, informal and informational sessions featuring topics of interest to the HKS community.

John Haigh joined HKS as Executive Dean in 2005, and was appointed Co-Director of the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government in 2011. Prior to joining HKS he was at AT&T and AT&T Wireless, where he held a variety of strategy and leadership positions. At AT&T he initially focused on strategy and business development issues, and was later promoted to be President of AT&T’s International Ventures. He then was Senior Vice President for Emerging Initiatives at AT&T Wireless, focusing on innovation efforts to develop new wireless services. Prior to joining AT&T he worked at Mercer Management Consulting, where he was a partner and consultant for 13 years. His work focused on strategic and operating issues in multiple industries -- telecommunications, transportation, energy and the environment.  He also worked at Resources for the Future prior to attending graduate school, focusing on energy and environmental issues. Dean Haigh holds a BA from Grinnell College, where he was the President’s Medalist and Phi Beta Kappa, and an MPP from the John F. Kennedy School of Government.
